Hot Water System Repairs

THE TASK

The experts at Titan Mechanical were on hand to carry out an array of hot water system remedials within a prestigious office complex in Lancashire.

During a recent legionella risk assessment, a number of defects were identified that required urgent attention.

The first of these issues included the replacement of two existing water heaters, which first required the installation of two 22mm isolation valves to shut off the supply, allowing the works to proceed.

Water Heater Replacement

PHASE 1

Once our engineers professionally fitted the two isolation valves to the connected pipework, the removal of the two old existing heaters was completed, with each of them being replaced with new 50 litre unvented direct water heaters.

PHASE 2

The site also had a problem with corrosion and scale build up within three of their mixer taps.

These issues have the potential to cause significant risks of bacterial build up, especially Legionella.

So our engineers were asked to replace the taps and hard pipe the feed to each tap in copper, replacing the existing non-WRAS approved flexi-hoses.

PHASE 3

The final part of the project required the Titan engineers to seamlessly replace 2no scale inhibitors.

A common device, these units have a profound impact on the flow rates of a system when they are working correctly.

However, the old units were no longer functional, and were therefore not offering any protection to the system.

We replaced the units and insulated the localised pipework with foil faced insulation.

CLIENT FEEDBACK

"Excellent customer service and extremely professional, they went above and beyond to get the reline done right. I couldn't recommend them higher."
